Pink eye, also known as Conjunctivitis, is the inflammation and irritation of the conjunctiva,
which covers the white part of the eyeball. With more than 5 million U.S cases each year, pink eye can be caused by allergies,
or a bacterial or viral infection. The latter is extremely contagious. Symptoms include redness, itching, tearing, and discharge.
Our app, Pinky, is able to detect the cause of your Conjunctivitis, and even differentiate between
bacterial/viral infections and allergic reactions. With Machine Learning and symptom consideration, Pinky is 96% accurate.
Doctors are only 70%-80% accurate because they usually don't test a swab upon initial visitation.
After the user submits an image of the affected eye to the app, our autonomous system compares it to hundreds of thousands
of confirmed cases and identifies the image accordingly. Machine Learning technology picks out very small details that human eyes miss.
This is how our app can detect if a bacterial/viral infection is present versus an allergen, and visa versa.
